A public meeting will be held to provide health service updates to the community within and around Millom.
The meeting, held at the Palladium in Millom on the 8th October, will give the community the opportunity to ask health professionals from the Millom Alliance about the town’s continuous health care developments, on-going challenges and future plans.
Mike Taylor, Chair from Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust said:
“This will be an important meeting giving us all a chance to review progress since the challenging events early last year. We, as a provider of services and the people of Millom, have been very actively involved in seeking to improve the health services in the community – this will be an opportunity to involve as many people as possible in the discussions to see what has gone well and what still can be improved.” tweet
Chaired by Jamie Reed MP, the meeting will include a variety of speakers including Dr John Howarth (Director of Service Improvement, Cumbria Partnership Foundation Trust), Dr Paul Grout (Clinical Director for Acute Medicine, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust), Dr Charlotte Hattersley (local GP) and representatives of Millom Health Action group.
Local organisations are invited to have their own display stand at the Palladium for the community to visit before and after the meeting. For example- The Better Care Together team will be hosting a stand providing information on how this project affects the local community and the services provided within and around Millom.
